Drawing

Jolee loves to color and frequently requests that I draw a picture for her. She firsts requests a hippo, so I draw a hippo. She had to give the hippo a kiss, then she wants me to draw a doggy. I draw the doggy and she says "doggy poo poo." I have her repeat, just in case I didn't hear right. Yep, she repeats "doggy poo poo." I ask her where she wants me to draw the poo poo and she points behind the dog. I drew it and she yelled "yea, doggy poo poo." Then she decided to try to draw some poo poo too.

Monkey

As I have been catching up on posting, Jolee has been climbing on me and wanting me to go snuggle her so she can take a nap. It's still too early for her nap though, she is going to have to wait about an hour. But anyways, as she was sitting on my lap and looking at the pictures as I was posting them, she saw a picture of herself and pointed and said "baby." I gave her a big hug and told her she was my baby. She looked at me and said "no, I monkey. Ooh ooh aah aah."

All Gone

Jolee loves fruit snacks, with a passion. To spoil Jolee, Sandy bought a huge box of fruit snacks. Every day, Jolee is always asking for "nacks." Yesterday, Sandy took Jolee to the zoo, shopping, and to lunch while I slept after working the previous night. When they got home, we were all lounging in the bedroom while Jolee was riffling through the diaper bag. To her great joy she found a package of fruit snacks and she ran over to me with a huge smile on her face and asked me to open it for her. I did and she sat on a foot stool to eat the spoils of her searching. I asked for one and with a very pained expression she handed one to me, only to drop her jaw when i actually ate it. I think she thought I was going to give it back. After that, she hopped off of the stool and turned around and emptied the bag of fruit snacks onto the stool and ran to throw away the bag. Sandy stopped her and told her that she would take her garbage and Jolee happily handed it over. Sandy then asked if she could have a fruit snack. Jolee got the biggest smile on her face and ran to the stool, popped all of the snacks in her mouth, quickly chewed and swallowed, turned back to Sandy and with her big smile said "All gone!"

That Tickles

Jolee loves tickling and being tickled. The other day she decided that she wasn't being tickled enough, so she walked up to me, pulled up her shirt so that her belly was showing and she proceeded to tickle her own belly and giggle hysterically. It was one of the cutest things I have seen her do. When Randy got home from work today, he took his shoes and socks off as usual, but then, he was attacked by the tickle monster. Jolee stood over his feet and rested her head on the floor so that she could use both hands to tickle Daddy's feet. Randy is so ticklish and he was laughing like crazy and whenever we laugh, Jolee laughs too. It was so much fun to watch Jolee tickle Randy and both of them laugh. I can't help myself from laughing right now just thinking about it!

Family Conversations

Max: "I want to invent edible duct tape."
Sarah: "What?!?"
Max: "You know when you have a humugus burger and it's falling apart. I could tape it up."

We are having a blast having Uncle Clint and Uncle Max here to visit. We played Apples to Apples and Clinton skunked us!
Jolee looking on at Uncle Max.
He was pretty scary looking.

Excuse Me, I'm Sitting Here

Okay, just as a warning, this post references breastfeeding. So you're warned. Anyways, on to the story. A few days ago, when Randy was sick, we were all tired, so we laid down for a nap. Jolee slept between Randy and I in our bed. She woke up before we did, as usual, and she woke me up. She was hungry and I was tired, so I fed her while lying in bed. She has gotten to the point where sitting or lying still while eating is just too boring for her, so she often will try to stand or roll around while eating (yes, life is a bit hectic while trying to feed a dancing baby). As she is eating, she does her usual try to stand up and eat. She turned sideways in the bed, and sat on Randy's face. Randy, of course, says "hey." Jolee stops, looks at Randy as if to say "what" and "you're the one in MY way." Then Jolee went back to eating and pounds her tush right into Randy's face again and again. By this time, I am laughing hysterically and Randy decides that the bed is not a safe place to lay, so he made his escape. I love when her personality pops out :)

Out the nose

Me being the brilliant Mommy, thinks, "Ooo, if I can set Jolee down, I will be able to type with both hands and then I can get so much more typed out." So, I very carefully set Jolee down, she starts to wake, so i lay down next to her to cuddle her and she goes back to sleep. I think "yes!" and as I am thinking "yes!" Jolee pops open her eyes and gives me a huge grin. My thought "oh so cute," and then Jolee spits ups and sneezes at the same time and milk comes flying out her nose at me. So now I have a very awake baby who is completely cranky because of having spit up come out of her nose and she won't let me clean it off, of course.

Well, I finally got her cleaned up and happy and she is playing with her toys, but now she is doing some serious grunting, so I don't think I will get to type anymore for now. Off to diaper duty.

My Little Princess

Jolee is so much fun. I love to hear her squeel with joy and coo and laugh. Tonight I layed on the floor next to her and she looked over with this huge grin. The next thing I know she is attempting to crawl on top of me!! I helped her up and she had a ball on top of Dad. She soon discovered that she could get on to the couch from me and found the remote and started pushing buttons. I took that one away and she found the TV remote, then a Christmas card, then another Christmas card. It was soooo much fun.

We laughed and laughed

A few weeks ago we travelled to Ajo to visit Jeremy and Trish Olsen. Their oldest daughter, Brekke, loved holding Jolee.

The problem didn't arise until it was time for her to give Jolee back so Jolee could eat. This is what happened when she couldn't hold Jolee anymore.

Brekke is just too cute and too funny! She didn't like being caught having a melt down, so she hid.

How to get out of bathing the dog

I decided that the best answer to this question would be to finally get some updates rolling on the blog, thus making Randy happy (since he likes me to be the blogger), but more importantly getting me out of having to bathe the dog :). Muhahaha.

Since we are on the topic of the dog, here is a cute picture of Chonkiri from last month. Poor Chon was lying on the couch and he looked cold and kinda pathetic with his cute puppy eyes. So I wrapped him in a blanket and he curled up and slept all cozy-like. Such a cute puppy.

I so got the better end of the deal doing this blogging. I just heard Randy yelling, "no, no." I am a little scared to see what sort of trouble Chon is causing. Yea for blogging!

Continuing on... Chon has decided that he doesn't like all of the pricey toys that we buy him, his favorite toy is...

Yes, that his a bucket that one of our vines came in. He will play with the bucket for hours. He wears it on his head and runs around the back yard with it. He pins it down and growls at it. He also will throw it in the air and chase it. Our neighbor came over a while back and watched him play and said "so that is what he keeps doing." I guess the neighbor was very confused with all of the banging and growling. Yep that is our goofy dog.

The Sad Story of the Snowman

Our Favorite Stop

Halfway between Tucson and Phoenix is the Ostrich Ranch at Picacho Peak. This is always such a fun stop to make for us. We feed the ostriches, miniature donkeys, deer, and lorikeets. We also went on a monster truck tour of the ranch. It was sooooo much fun. Here are pictures and a few movies.

A Glimpse into the Future

Sarah loves to dress up for halloween. I am not a big fan of dressing up, I guess I grew up and no longer have the flare to dress up. However, I know how much it means to Sarah to dress up, so I do it. This year we had a tough time deciding what to wear. With the decision final, we set about finding the necessary accessories. The time came to prove ourselves, we dressed up and got a lot of double takes. It was really good, we had a hard time recognizing ourselves!
If you can't guess, we are a senior missionary couple.

Dog in a box

Well, they turned us down at USPS, I guess we aren't allow to ship our dog to Austraila to visit his ansectors. Hmm, it was worth the try. We did give him air holes.
(Totally joking. Don't report us to PETA, he actually had fun. Okay, so I bribed him with a cookie, but he went in and when we took him out he wanted to get back in for another cookie)

More proof our dog is crazy

We had decided to take a nap/watch a movie, so we pulled the futon out and turned it into a bed. Well, the dog was in the house. We fall asleep, when we wake, we couldn't find the dog. Here is where we finally found him.

Yep, under the futon.

It was pretty funny to watch him get out from under there, he must be half cat to squeeze through such tight places.

A New Worry for Sarah

Once again, Randy needs to tell you exactly what happened and why our house has the pleasant aroma of burnt hair.

We get home from church and we are HUNGRY! I get the grill fired up and warming while I am getting every thing ready to throw on. I walk outside and I smell Propane, what the HECK! I am quite confused at this point because the grill has never done that before. I open the lid and discover that it did not light. While holding the lid opened I reach down to push the magic button and whoosh, a ball of fire comes erupting out of the grill. I had only been filling the grill with propane. It left one arm completely hairless on the underside of it and a few hairs on my head were singed. Good thing I did not use hair spray this morning!!

**note to self: Close the grill lid before igniting a ball of gas!**

I come out a couple of minutes later and discover that it happened again, This time I closed the lid and turned off the knobs before pushing the magic button. Once all the propane was burnt out of the grill I opened the lid and turned the knobs, and once again I pushed the magic button, YEA! it worked. We had grilled hamburgers and artichoke! It was very delicious.
